The Coalition of Northern Youths has given the Nigerian government two weeks ultimatum to address the current security challenges bewildering the northern part of the country or face protests.

Addressing a news conference in Kaduna on Wednesday, the Coalition said the youths are ready to occupy the Houses of Assembly in the 19 Northern States as well as the National Assembly in Abuja if nothing is done urgently to address the insecurity in the region.

The Coalition also said that there is need to inject fresh ideas in the security architecture of the nation.

The group is also of the opinion that the fight against insecurity in the country needs more than a military approach and urges both the federal and state governments to take urgent action that will reduce poverty, illiteracy and unemployment.
