The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant Farouk Yahaya, says the Nigerian Army is ready to surmount the country’s security challenges, affecting the economic growth and development of the nation.
General Yahaya, stated this during the Inter-division Platoon Obstacle Crossing Competition, currently holding in Bauchi State, Northeast Nigeria.
The Inter Platoon Competition is an annual event, organized for officers and men of the Nigerian Army, aimed at improving the standard of battle readiness, physical fitness, as well as courage, and espirit-de corps, towards strengthening professionalism.

The Chief of Army Staff, represented by the Commander Nigeria Army Amour Corps, Major General Sulaiman Idris, said such event will help the army to identify various challenges being faced by the troops operating in the theater of war, and to proffer solutions and strategies to overcome the security challenges, currently facing the country.
He enjoined the participants to be disciplined and focused throughout the period, in order to achieve the desired objectives.
