Cross River State Governor,Professor Ben Ayade has warned that he will not hesitate to apply the full weight of the law on any individual, found culpable of formenting trouble in the state no matter how highly placed.
Ayade who was represented by his deputy, Professor Ivara Esu gave this warning during an on-the-spot assessment of the destruction wrecked at the recent communal Conflicts between the people of Alesi Community of Ikom and Odonget Community of Obubra Local government Areas of Cross River State.
Also the state Police Commissioner ,Aminu Alhassan lamented the persistent fighting and physical confrontations instead of dialogue as a means to peaceful resolution.

Aminu assured that the police will work with the state government to dig deep into the root cause of the crises between the two neighbouring communities and find a lasting solution to the matter.
Both the State Government and the police called on the Chiefs and Clan Heads of the two communities of Alesi, Ikom and Odonget, Obubra to forward a list of all those behind the crises for proper identification.
The Communal Clashes led to the destruction of property, including Primary School, Palm Oil factories, Cocoa warehouse and farmlands from both ends of the Communities.
