Tension is mounting in the Ondo State House of Assembly as armed security men have taken over the Assembly Complex at Alagbaka Akure.

The action of the policemen and other security agencies may not be unconnected with a plan by the outgoing members of the assembly to impeach the outgoing Speaker, Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun.

The two gates of the assembly complex were blocked by armed security men from the Nigeria police and the Nigeria security and civil defence corps.

The Chairman of, House Committee on Information, Olugbenga Omole confirmed that, armed security men were moblised to the assembly complex.

Omole dismissed insinuation that the speaker had resigned, adding that the signature of Oleyelogun was forged on a fake letter in circulation.

A letter of resignation of the speaker has flooded the social media.

Meanwhile, the valedictory sitting of the 9th assembly is expected to hold this Friday.
