A magistrate court sitting at Nomansland in Kano has ordered that the Kano Former Commissioner for works, Muazu Magaji be remanded at the Kurmawa correctional centre closed to the Kano Emir’s palace.
The charge, according to the police First Information Report, (FIR) bothers on defamation of character, injurious falsehood, attempt to disrupt public peace among others.
The presiding judge, Aminu Gabari said the accused should be remanded at the Correctional Centre and grant permission to his doctors to visits him for any medical attention.

Justice Gambari mandated both the Prosecuting Counsel and the Defending Counsel to present their case in the next adjourned date.
He adjourned the next sitting to 3rd February, 2022.
The matter for hearing today was delay following protest by some youths in solidarity of the former commissioner.
