Hearing in the suit instituted against the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, David Imuse by former Resident Electoral Commissioner of Akwa Ibom State, Mike Igini at the State High Court in Benin City resumed on Tuesday.
Continuation of the hearing is as a result of the failure of the claimant, Mike Igini and the first defendant, David Imuse to reach an agreement on the out of court settlement terms in the N5 billion libel suit filed against the Edo APC Chairman and two others.
In the day’s hearing, the Chief witness who happened to be the claimant himself was cross examined by the counsel to the APC Chairman, Austin Osarenkhoe and the two other defendants.
Counsel to the claimant, Clement Onwuwuenor, SAN described the terms for the settlement offered by Imuse as unsatisfactory even as Austin Osahenkhoe who is counsel to the State APC Chairman noted that the terms proferred by the claimant were rather stringent.
Further hearing of the suit has been adjourned to November 15 and 16, 2022.
