The United Nations has attributed the decline in the number of confirmed COVID 19 cases in Nigeria to a collapse in the demand for testing.
The Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for the United Nations in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, who stated this during a courtesy call on Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, said the decline has nothing to do with the containment of the virus as earlier reported.
Kallon also urged the state governments to hold institutions accountable in the containment of the virus.

The UN representative said he is in Gombe State to ascertain the level of the impact of the crisis, as it affects the internally displaced persons, the standard of health care services, and the living conditions of the people.
