Katsina State Government says it is ready to tackle the second phase of Covid-19 through effective collaboration with the various health partners in the State.
Governor Aminu Masari gave the assurance when he flagged off the distribution of drugs and other medical supplies worth about N315 million,
to healthcare centres in all the 34 area councils of the State.
The drugs and equipment distributed include antimalarial, delivery packs and Personal Protection Equipment, PPEs.
Among the partners in the forefront of helping in the prevention and spread of the Covid-19 is the Lafiya Programme with donations of Personal Protective Equipment, PPEs, training of front line health workers, and the provision of infection prevention and control materials to all schools in the State.
Governor Aminu Masari said the gesture has assisted greatly to ensure safe reopening of schools during the first wave of the pandemic.

The governor further stressed that his administration will continue to partner with all the healthcare partners who are ready to contribute to the wellbeing of the people of Katsina State, particularly the health workers with the threat of a
second wave.
Masari disclosed that to give maximum attention to the health needs of the people, the State Government has established a Contributory Healthcare Management Agency aimed at reducing hardship and expenses on healthcare.
While handing over the items to the hospital and healthcare managements, Masari called on the various development committees, hospital communities and other critical players, to continue to educate their people on the need to avail themselves with other similar opportunities, to improve their health and wellbeing.
