Teachers and Parents of private schools in Kwara State have staged a peaceful protest demanding the reopening of schools across the State.

Addressing journalists during the protest in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Dr Rahaman Adetunji, lamented that private school teachers in the state have not been paid since the beginning of Covid-19 in March.

He appealed to the State government to emulate other states by and reopen the schools without further delay.

He said it is safe to reopen the schools after experimenting with partial reopening for the West Africa School Certificate Examination.

This is the second time in two weeks that teachers of various private schools in kwara State are protesting the continuous closure of schools in the State.
