Cross River State House of Assembly, says it will work with the Executive arm of Government to block financial leakages and improve Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the overall development of the state.
Newly elected Speaker of the assembly, Elvert Ayambem made this known during his Inauguration speech at the assembly complex in Calabar.
Ayambem who said the tenth assembly will not be a rubber stamp, assures that all members irrespective of their political party differences, will work together in the interest of the state.
The Speaker explained that improving the state IGR and blocking financial leakages will improve the financial position of the State and make it more economically viable to achieve its numerous programmes.

In his remarks, Governor Bassey Otu, represented by his Deputy Peter Odey, assured of a good working relationship with the Lawmakers.
The twenty-five APC members dominated assembly were earlier sworn in by the clerk and the speaker including, five members from the PDP and One From the Labour Party.
