The Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has assured workers in the state of his government readiness to increase their salary to enable them render optimal services to the people.
Otu disclosed this when he met with the state permanent secretaries and head of various departments and agencies in government house Calabar.
The Governor said the pronouncement of the increase will soon be made public as part of his government’s plans to cushion the effect of the high inflation rate occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.
The Permanent Secretary General Administration in Governor’s office, Innocent Eteng, commended the Governor hoping that the new salary structure will alleviate the hardship faced by the people.
