The Cross River State Owned Cocoa Chocolate Bar Processing Factory located in Ikom, has commenced production and ready for commissioning.

Governor Ben Ayade made this known in Ikom, during an inspection visit to the factory to see the production processes.

Ayade who described the project as a dream come true, said with the operation of the factory, there is no more importation of chocolate bars made from organic cocoa from abroad into Nigeria, especially in the South South region.
He said that the Multi billion Naira project will provide thousand of employments for the youths and additional source of income to make Cross River less dependent on federal allocations.
The cocoa chocolate factory in Ikom is one of the biggest in West Africa.
It will process ten tons of cocoa per hour, with value addition to the cocoa bean which is one of the biggest Cash Crop in Nigeria.
