The Federal High Court sitting in Calabar has announced October 22, 2022 as date for judgement on a matter before it regarding the authentic Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) In Cross River State in 2023.
The court also struck out an application to subpoena a staff of the West African Examinations Council, WAEC to testify before the court.
Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu who gave the judgement date also struck out the matter during the hearing of a suit challenging the qualifications of the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the 2023 general elections, Senator Bassey Edet Otu.
Speaking on the matter, the Lead Counsel to Senator Bassey Otu, Mike Ozhekome SAN said his team demonstrated that Bassey was qualified as elected by the party.

on his part, the Counsel to Senator Owan-Enoh, Awa Kalu (SAN) said his team is waiting for the judgment on the chosen date.
Senator John Owan-Enoh had approached the court via an Originating Summons asking for among other prayers, the disqualification of Senator Otu and replace it with his name over his name as the Governorship Candidate of APC in Cross River State.
