Cross River State Government says over three Hundred thousand vaccines recieved from the presidential steering committee on COVID-19 have been judiciously administered across the eighteen Local Government Areas of the State.
Fielding questions from Journalists on the State of health of Cross River in 2021, especially amidst the fear of Omicron Variant, the State Commissioner for health, Betta Edu, Said the state is well prepared through its integrated Vaccinations exercise.

Edu said the State is working with relevant stakeholders, including Traditional Rulers, Religious leaders, top political office holders as well as student bodies to continue advocacy and spread of the vaccination campaigns across the Local Government Areas.
Cross River State, according to the Commissioner has recorded seven hundred and twelve positive cases of COVID-19 through the use of polymerase chain reaction PCR test as of December 2021.
Governor Ben Ayade had recently declared open the state’s mass vaccination campaign, with a promise that his government will Vaccinate more citizens in the year 2022.
