Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade, has sacked his Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ask Okang, and three other Executive Council Members.
Others sacked by the Governor are Commissioners for Climate Change, Donatus Etim, Women Affairs ,Rita Ayim, and New Cities Development, Mike Usibe.

The Governor’s decision may not be unconnected with his new role as the leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State, which the sacked appointees refused to embrace.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media & Publicity, Christian lta, and made available to reporters in Calabar, he directed that all those affected should return government property in their possession with immediate effect.
“The State Governor, His Excellency Prof Ben Ayade, has approved the relief of the following persons of their appointments as commissioners: Mike Usibe, Rita Ayim, Asu Okang, and Ntufam Donatus Etim. Other appointees relieved of their appointments are Leo Inyambe, Rt Hon. Orok Otu, Duke Victor Okon (Alausa).
“Consequently, they are hereby directed to return government property and vehicles in their care with immediate effect to the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
“His Excellency thanks them for their services to the state and wishes them well in their future endeavours,” he stated.
