Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of a medical doctor, Edmund Akpaikpe around Esigi creeks, in Bakassi Local Government Area of the State.
Confirming the release, Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo said Edmund regained his freedom after the matching order giving to the Anti Kidnapping & Cultism Squad led by Abdulhameed Awodi by CP Aminu Alhassan to get the victim rescued unhurt.
The state Police image maker commended the support of the chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area and the traditional rulers for giving them useful intelligence information that led to the rescue of the kidnapped Doctor who was abandoned in the creek bush around Esigi.

Dr Edmund Akpaikpe worked in Irua Specialist Hospital in Edo State before he was kidnapped on Sunday on his way to Bakassi,his home town.
