The Cross River State Police Command has warned citizens against taking laws into their hands, adding that any act of jungle justice will not be tolerated.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Irene Ugbo told AIT’s Rasheed Olanrewaju while reacting to the setting ablaze of three suspected armed robbers at two different locations within the Calabar Metropolis on Saturday.

Ugbo who said the force under the Commissioner of Police Aminu Alhassan, will continue to provide adequate security to all and sundry, warned that any unlawful act will not be tolerated.

Three suspected armed robbers were early Saturday morning reportedly burnt to death by angry youths and vigilante groups around Harts Street in Càlabar South and Ikot Ansa community in Calabar Municipality Area of Cross River State.
