Cross River State Government has debunked social media reports alleging multiple deaths, including babies, during the mega empowerment programme organised by the wife of the Governor, Eyoanwan Otu, in Ogoja Local Government Area.
Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, Ekpeyong Akiba, says only one woman died, while five others who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Ogoja.
Akiba made this known after visiting the deceased’s family in Yala Local Government Area and the injured women at the hospital.
