The Cross River State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding, MOU, with Zipline Technology, to deploy drones to deliver medical supplies to all parts of the state especially communities with difficult terrains.
Commissioner for Health, Dr.Betta Edu, who this while speaking with journalists in Calabar, said the MOU, was signed in preparation for a possible outbreak of the Delta Variant of Coronavirus and the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state in the state.

She explained that the use of Drone technology to deliver vaccines, blood, and other medical essentials in real-time in partnership with Zipline Technology, Ghana, will help improve quality healthcare delivery in the state especially in the period of the pandemic.

On her part, the General Manager of Zipline Drone Technology, Naa Adorkor, said Cross River State and Kaduna State, are the first states in the country to sign for the new life-changing technology in the health sector.
Meanwhile, the MOU, signing ceremony was done in the presence of Governor Ben Ayade and key state officials.
