The National Industrial Court in Calabar has ordered the suspension of the ongoing strike and sit at home action embarked upon by the Cross River State Branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress and other affiliate unions in the state.
Justice Sanusi Kardo gave the order on Wednesday, restraining Labour and other groups from further holding rallies pursuant to the strike and locking up government premises, adding that the strike is suspended with immediate effect.
The Industrial Court judge ruled that the strike action embarked by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state did not comply with Section 18 of the trade dispute Act.
