The Cross River State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned the hearing on the matter before it to Wednesday, 31st May 2023 to enable both the Petitioners and the defendants to regularise their documents.
Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Oken Inneh made this known during the maiden hearings of applications at Court 8, Moore Road, the venue of the Tribunal Sitting.
Speaking with Journalists after the sitting, Defense Counsel, Mike Ozekhome SAN, commended the Judge for accepting the chosen date.

Ozekhome said despite the petitions in court, there will not be a vacuum in Cross River State as the Governor’s elect would be sworn in while the matter continues on the Adjourned date.
On their part, Counsel to Petitioners, First Baba-Isa and PDP Leader, Joe Obi-Bisong, agreed with Ozekhome but expressed their views over the merit of their case before the court
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Sandy Ojang Onor, are Challenging INEC’s declaration of Senator Bassey Edet Otu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as governor-elect at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal (EPT).
