Cross River State Governor Professor Ben Ayade says, the 26-megawatt Adiabo Power Plant at Tinapa, is ready for Commissioning before his May 29 handover date.
Ayade said the project which also involved the construction of gas pipelines, a pump station as well as end-to-end gas distribution networks for domestic use in Calabar and its environs, will provide direct and indirect employment opportunities in the state.
Speaking during the inspection of the final part of the project, Governor Ayade, who said the job was 98 per cent complete, expressed confidence in the company handling the project, on its capacity to deliver on May 20, 2023.
He said with the 24-hour power generation, businesses will thrive in Calabar and its environs.
On his part, the leader of the consortium handling the project, Jitender Sacheva, assured that the project had already been completed, waiting only for the link-up, within the few weeks remaining for the commissioning.
The project which is in joint partnership with the Export-Import Bank of India and the Cross River State Government, was part of Governor Ayade’s Foreign Direct Investment Agenda for the state.
