The Cross River State Police Command has beefed up security in warring Obubra communities as the state Governor, Professor Ben Ayade imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Ovonum and Ofatura communities in Obubura LGA of the state.
Already all the vehicular movement along the highway routes into the communities have been subjected to security checks, to ascertain the contents in them.

Governor Ayade had in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Barrister Christian Ita, said the curfew became necessary following tension generated from clashes between two warring communities.
The police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo said the police and other security agencies have beefed up security to ensure peace and security on the highway and the communities.
Ovonum and Ofatura communities have had a constant history of clashes arising from disagreements and land disputes, especially during the rainy seasons.
