The Nigerian Army has assured communities along the Cross River border of security to enable them Carry out their lawful duties and businesses effectively.
Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, gave the assurance during the inauguration of the military support infrastructures,in Oban, Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The project which is renovating and remodeling of science laboratories and toilets in Community Secondary School, Oban according to COAS who was represented by his chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Markus Kangye, is to further strengthen civil-military cooperation.
He said schools along the Border Corridors across the country were selected for such Intervention to give them a sense of belonging.

On his part,the Clan Head of Oban, Stephen Mbey, who commended the Nigerian Army for the Intervention noted that the school was established in 1978 and after many years its facilities started deteriorating.
The effort of Nigerian army towards getting quality education along the border Communities was commended by the Cross River State Government, students and stakeholders in the Cross River-Cameroon border villages.
