Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has expressed grave concerns over increasing cases of cultism in primary and secondary schools
He warns that unless something urgent is done to reverse the disturbing trend, the future of the state might be in jeopardy.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Government Comprehensive Secondary School Borokiri in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara announced that henceforth, any student or school official found to be associated with cultism will summarily be dismissed and prosecuted.

Squatters and land grabbers also took advantage of the situation to take over a large part of the school’s land.
