Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara is seeking the support of the Nigerian Air force to fight headlong illegal oil bunkering and all other acts of economic sabotage in the state and other oil rich states of the Niger Delta Region.
Speaking when he played host to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, Governor Fubara says the issue of illegal oil bunkering cannot be left to the Navy alone; saying that his administration will soon come up with tough measures to help curtail the act of economic sabotage.

Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar is in town to inspect facilities at the 115 Special Operations Group and to pay condolence visits to the families of the Airmen who died in an helicopter crash in Niger State.
Air Marshal Abubakar is also taking advantage of his visit to Rivers State to meet with Governor Sim Fubara and thank him for his administration’s support and discuss ways of further improving security in the state.

He says his administration intends to make life difficult for anybody who engages in crime and other acts of economic sabotage.
Sim Fubara says his administration will give the Air Force and other security agencies all the support they need to make Rivers State a safe haven for residents, visitors, and investors
