At least one suspected cultist, identified as Musbau Saheed has been confirmed dead, with several others injured as cultists and Police officers clash in Ilorin, the State capital.
The police in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Superintendent of Police, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.
The police revealed that one of the two suspected cultists arrested was attempting to evade arrest when he plunged to his own death, in a nearby Surulere River.
It was, however, gathered that the suspected cultists from Baboko, Oja Tuntun, and Surulere areas of Ilorin metropolis had earlier clashed in a thug battle for supremacy.

Police officers from Surulere and other divisions were immediately drafted to the affected areas to restore normalcy, arresting suspects.
The aggrieved cultist group later mobilized and an attempt to force the release of their arrested colleagues at the Surulere Police Division resulted in a fierce exchange of fire.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter to unravel the misery.
It would be recalled that there had been recurrent cases of cult clashes and related deaths with no fewer than 10 deaths this year in Ilorin.
Calm has since been restored in the affected areas.
