Government has imposed a 6:00pm to 6:00am curfew on Karu and Keffi Local Government Council Areas of Nasarawa State in response to escalating violence in the areas, following the nationwide #EndBadGovernance and Hunger protest.

The curfews which came into effect on Thursday will run until further notice, according to the authorities.

The two Councils Chairmen, James Thomas of Karu and Mohammed Shehu of Keffi in separate statements said the decision was taken following the negative dimension the #EndBadGovernance protests took which resulted to violence.

The curfews were described as precautionary measures to ensure the security of both residents and property in the two Local Government Areas.

The curfew will restrict movement of persons, cars, motorcycle and tricycle riders and shop owners.
