Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Friday received the remains of Chief Dan Orbih, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and late Chairman of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, at the Benin Airport.
The governor, accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, received the remains at about 9:55 a.m. and led family members, friends, political associates, and government officials to his private residence in the GRA, Benin City, for the lying-in-state ceremony.
Okpebholo described Orbih’s death as a great loss to Edo State, saying the late politician was more than a political associate to him.
Describing Orbih as a brother, the governor prayed to God to grant the family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
