Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor has said there are times security agencies and the military have come under pressure to compromise elections through various financial inducements but have always stood their ground.
He called on Nigerians to anchor their trust in the military as they strive to maintain political neutrality.

Speaking during the weekly Ministerial briefing, General Irabor who provided updates and strides made by the military in the fight against insurgency, terrorism and banditry, said personnel are being trained to follow codified rules of engagement before, during and after the elections.
The Defence chief further revealed that over 300,000 persons have been freed from the hands of abductors since 2016 while refugees who fled the northeast due to insurgency have started returning to their homes.
He acknowledged the existence of sabotage within the military but insisted the saboteurs will not succeed.
