Barely one month to the 21st National Sports Festival to be hosted by Delta state, the state Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged contractors handling projects and facilities for the festivals to redouble their efforts to beat the November deadline.
Governor Okowa who made this call while Fielding questions from journalists after inspecting ongoing projects meant for the festivals at Stephen Keshi stadium Asaba said he is worried by what he saw on ground considering the closeness of the takeoff of the festival.
Governor Okowa however mandated the local organising committee to give him daily progress report of what is being done this he said will guarantee that the works will be delivered within the stipulated time.
The governor also used the opportunity to sympathise with families beyond Delta state affected by the flooding most especially those that lost their loved ones.

On his part, Chairman Sports Commission and President Athletics Federation of Nigeria Tonobok Okowa enumerates the various facilities that are being constructed for the festival and the importance of getting them ready before the time.
