A registration of herders, butchers and market unions is ongoing in Delta state.
The state commissioner of police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi who made this known to journalists during a meeting at the command’s headquarters in Asaba, stressing that intelligence at the disposal of the command indicates some markets and ranches are being exploited by criminal elements.
The high-level stakeholders security meeting is part of the police proactive strategy to enhance crime prevention across Delta state.
In attendance are leaders of herders, cattle breeders, butchers, market unions, government officials, and security operatives.

Top on the agenda is effective crime prevention.
Compulsory registration and authentic identification of all cattle breeders and market unions were directed by the police chief as a way of tackling emerging security threats.
The meeting concluded with stakeholders resolving to strengthen intelligence sharing.
