Development of the multi-trillion Naira Centenary City Project in Abuja is set to begin again after an eleven-year pause

Managing Director of Centenary City Michael Odenigwe, told inconsistent government policies that put the project on hold have been sorted out

The Centenary City Project was supposed to be a key achievement of the Goodluck Jonathan Administration.

Though private sector-driven, its potential to rival similar projects in Dubai, United Arab Emirate gave so much hope to Nigeria’s property development and tourism sectors

Tucked in the Airport Road axis of the nation’s capital, the project has remained a pipe dream after eleven years of gestation.

But that appears set to change

Arrangements have been concluded for the provision of the primary Infrastructure for the 2.4trillion naira project that is expected to create value and raise Abuja’s profile and encourage foreign investment.

The first phase of the project comprises a 4.3-kilometre access road, expected to cost around 750 billion Naira.
