The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State has unanimously agreed to the call for harmonisation between old members of the party and the new ones who joined from the All Progressives Congress, APC in the build-up to the September 19, 2020 governorship election.
The agreement was reached at an enlarged meeting with party leaders which took place in Agenebode, where all the attendees passed vote of confidence on one of its founding fathers, High Chief Aleogho Raymond Dokpesi for interceding for both the old and new PDP members to ensure peace return to the state chapter of the party.
The victory of the PDP in the Governorship election in Edo State has been dividing the party more than uniting the members over who controls the party’s structure and gets appointment into the cabinet of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
How to put an end to the lingering leadership crisis within the Edo state PDP over harmonisation of old members and the new ones who joined the party from APC is the reason High Chief Dokpesi convened this meeting of party leaders in Etsako East Local Government Area of the State .

Dokpesi who passionately appealed to the old and new members to see themselves as one, said the right thing to do at this time that will unite the Party is harmonisation.
The leaders present at the meeting who unanimously agreed With Dokpesi for his call for harmonisation, passed a vote of confidence on him as their National Leader and for being a bridge-builder in the party.
The leaders from the old and new PDP left the meeting with Dokpesi in a happy mood and promised to compile a list for the proposed harmonisation in Etsako East Local Government Area.
