Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has commended the Department of State Services, DSS, and other security agencies for the rescue of a kidnapped victim and the arrest of three suspects allegedly linked to the abduction.
The governor says the operation demonstrates the importance of intelligence and sustained security operations in tackling kidnapping and other crimes.
A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, says one suspect was arrested at a kidnappers’ hideout in Atabula, Duduguru, in Jenkwe Development Area.
Two others were later tracked to a hotel in Lafia, where they were arrested.
Security operatives also destroyed a makeshift camp allegedly used by the kidnappers.
Cash, five mobile phones and other items were recovered during the operation.
Governor Sule praised the DSS and other security agencies involved, urging them to sustain operations against criminal networks in the state.
He also pledged continued government support for security agencies.
Residents are being encouraged to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information that could assist security operations.
The governor says cooperation between communities and security agencies remains critical to maintaining peace across Nasarawa State.
