There was a bit of confusion this morning at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos following fire outbreak at E54 Bridge Terminal One building.
Firefighters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN were seen trying to put out the fire.
FAAN spokesperson, Obiageli Orah in a statement disclosed that at about 05.29am smoke was detected billowing from the E54 Bridge, which made electrical engineers to immediately cut off power to the entire E wing of the terminal building.
She noted that the airport rescue and firefighting services team had saved the situation with investigation ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire with initial suspicion pointing to spark from an electrical unit.
Orah also revealed that the incident which had escalated into a fire was brought under control at 06.41am, adding that all flight operations in the terminal one of the MMIA have been diverted to the D wing of the Airport
