Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi says he still has confidence and respect for the Judiciary to do justice in his current legal tussle.
Governor Umahi was addressing thousands of supporters who thronged the popular Udensi roundabout, Abakaliki to show solidarity with him following Tuesday’s Federal High Court, Abuja judgement which sacked the Governor and his deputy on the basis of defection from PDP to APC.
The court had also sacked Governor Umahi’s Deputy Kelechi Igwe; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Francis Nwifuru and other fifteen State lawmakers over their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, under which platform they were elected into office in 2019, to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Governor Umahi told the crowd not to entertain any fear about the judgment but to remain peaceful and go about their normal businesses.
Umahi also advised his supporters not to criticise the trial judge despite the judicial setback, pointing out that he has instituted an appeal process that would upturn the decision of the Abuja Federal High Court.
