Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has approved the reduction of school fees payable by students of the State owned University.
A statement by the State government, says the gesture is to reduce the burdens on parents, whose children are in the University, as well to encourage University school enrollment amongst the youths of the State.
Secretary to State Government, Kenneth Ugbala, who signed the statement, notes that all indigenes of Ebonyi State in the State University will have their fees reduced by Twenty Thousand Naira per student, while that of the non-indigenes is reduced by ten thousand Naira.

The statement added that the Ebonyi State government, took into consideration the prevailing harsh economic situation in the country and the world at large occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, in arriving at the new school fees regime at the Ebonyi State University.
