Just hours after Media reports of the suspension of two Head teachers in Ebonyi State public school, Governor Francis Nwifuru, has directed their immediate recall.

The suspension of the Head teachers was linked to a viral social media video showing deplorable conditions of primary school buildings and infrastructures at a local community in Ezza North Council Area of the State.

The two Head teachers were on Monday issued letters of query and indefinite suspension by the LGA Education Secretary, accusing them of gross misconduct and sabotage, after a sensational video of poor condition of learning facilities in a public school in Ezza North Local Government Area of the State, went viral.

But, this Thursday, the Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru through his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Leo Oketa, issued a Press statement directing the immediate recall of the Head teachers.

He stated that the present administration in Ebonyi State remains committed to the welfare of teachers, pupils and the continuous improvement of learning conditions across schools in the State.

Oketa noted that while the State Government acknowledges existing infrastructure challenges in some communities in the State, efforts were being sustained to addressing them progressively, as all needs cannot be met at the same time.

The statement further explained that the Ebonyi State Government is already undertaking massive school building projects in Oriuzor, Ezza North, where the viral video emanated from, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and provide a better learning environment for pupils.
