Chairman of the Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Dauda Shauibu, says all is set for Bauchi to join the two-day nationwide protest as directed by the National Body of the Union, to press home their demands on the nation’s current economic situation.
Shauibu said this while speaking to ait.live on the telephone, about their level of readiness, ahead of Tuesday’s planned protest.
He says he has since directed the local government leadership of the union to comply with the directive, and mobilise their members to come out en mass.
Bauchi State Police Command has since issued a press release through its spokesman, Ahmed Wakili, assuring of police commitment to secure them during the planned nationwide protest, by the Nigeria Labour Congress, saying every citizen has a constitutional right to peaceful protest.
The protest, according to Dauda Shauibu, will commence by 9:00 a.m. at the Union Secretariat.
