The West Africa Regional body, ECOWAS says it is concerned that the president of one its member-states, Senegal, has postponed the country’s presidential election, initially scheduled to hold on the 25th of this month.
In a statement released hours after President Sall announced the postponement of the hugely- anticipated presidential election, ECOWAS
called on Senegalese authorities to urgently announce a new date for the now-postponed election.

The West African regional bloc through the three -paragraph statement from its commission, requested a speedy follow- through with whatever is the revised political schedule of activities so as to engender confidence in Senegal’s decades-long democratic structures.
