The West Africa bloc, ECOWAS has described as unacceptable the three-year timetable announced by the military junta in Niger Republic for a handover to civilian administration.
The ECOWAS Commissioner Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Dr. Abdelfatau Musah told AIT.live that the junta cannot be allowed to dictate to sub-regional body, and must get out of power for the reinstatement of the ousted President, Mohamed Bazoum without delay.

He also confirmed that troops from the ECOWAS Standby Force are ready to go into Niger Republic to remove the junta, after firming up operational strategies at the two-day meeting in Accra, Ghana last week.
