Governor Godwin Obaseki has formally launched the state regional development plan and the Benin City Masterplan to guide the development trajectory of the state into the future.
This was done as part of activities to celebrate Edo at thirty-three in Benin City.
Edo State is thirty-three, having been created on August 27, 1991.
A week-long celebration has been put in place to mark the steady growth of the state.
It commences with an interdenominational service on day one and an education programme on day two.
Governor Obaseki in a broadcast to residents and indigenes commends them for keeping faith with the vision of the founding fathers in serving as the heartbeat of the nation, assuring of better days ahead.
He moves to the sir Victor Uwaifo creative hub to join well-meaning Edo people as they honour the memorable event on day three which coincides with the birthdate anniversary.

The Governor’s focus is on how to sustain and advance on the progress of Edo.
He proceeded to formally launch the state regional development plan, and the Benin City Master Plan which was followed by a handover of the torch of the masterplans to the next generation.
The plans which are legally binding on Edo people are living documents which will be subject to review every five years.
They will be infused into primary and secondary school curriculums.
