Edo State now has a new Deputy Governor following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu by the State House of Assembly on Monday.
Thirty-eight-year-old Omobayo Marvellous Godwins was sworn in on Monday by the State Chief Judge, Daniel Okungbowa at an event witnessed by Government officials, Lawmakers, Chieftains of the PDP and family members in Benin City.
Thirty eight-year-old Omobayo Marvellous Godwins took the oath of office as Deputy Governor of Edo State.
The oath was administered by the Chief Judge of the State, Daniel Okungbowa.
His inauguration follows the impeachment of Philip Shaibu by the State House of Assembly.
Governor Godwin Obaseki, top Government Officials, lawmakers and chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, were present at the ceremony.
Governor Obaseki took to the podium to acknowledge the fact that he never envisaged working with two Deputy Governors during the lifespan of his administration.

He is however optimistic that Omobayo Godwins will give his best to the growth and development of Edo State
The newly sworn in Deputy Governor is thankful to the Governor for the opportunity given to him to contribute his quota to the development of the state.
Omobayo Marvellous Godwins was born on July 19, 1986 and hails from Akoko Edo Local Government Area of the State.
He has a bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Msc in Public Administration from the University of Benin.
He is a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN.
