Edo City transport service staff protest neglect by management

Workers of the Edo City Transport Service, ECTS on Monday, staged a protest, to register their grievances over the maltreatment in the hands of the management led by the Managing Director, Edugie Agbonlahor.

The workers mostly drivers and conductors, blocked the entrance into the ECTS office situated at the Aduwawa axis of the Ramat Park, lamenting the hardships they had to endure as a result of nonpayment of salaries, delayed promotion, and other unfavourable working conditions, which made them be stagnant.

Some drivers who spoke to AIT, say they are hardly given their allowances when on trips travel outside the state.

They added that, most of them have remained casuals for over six years without the management considering them for substantive employment.

But in her swift reactions, the he Managing Director of ECTS Edugie Agbonlahor, denied all allegations levelled against her, by the workers.

The protesting workers who were also at the government house, called on the Governor, to wade into the matter and resolve the crisis urgently and seek his intervention in the payment of their entitlements.
