The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has struck out the petition of Action Alliance (AA) for filing its pre-hearing notice late.
The three-man panel tribunal headed by Justice Abdulrazak Abdulkareem reached the decision on Friday in Benin City; following the motion raised by the Counsel for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that Counsel for the Action Alliance did not file and serve the PDP on time.
The tribunal however entertained the petition filed by the Allied Peoples Movement challenging the eligibility of the incumbent Governor of the State Godwin Obaseki to contest the September election.
Action Alliance is challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) decision to exclude its candidate from taking part in the last Governorship election in Edo State.
Three more petitions from different political parties are still before the tribunal seeking to nullify the election of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
