Edo Gov commends President Tinubu, wife as 250 Senior Citizens receive ₦200,000 Grant

Two hundred and fifty elderly persons, aged 65 and above, from Edo State, have each been awarded a ₦200,000 grant through the federal government’s Social Investment Programme, under the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Elderly Support Scheme.

Governor Monday Okpebholo, speaking at the event’s second edition held at the Government House in Benin City, expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi for what he described as their unwavering support of the Renewed Hope Initiative, seeking to uplift vulnerable members of society.

Edesili Anani, the administrator of the Office of the First Lady, represented Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the initiator of the scheme.

Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, commended President Bola Tinubu and his wife for their commitment to supporting the elderly.

Flanked by his deputy and Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s representative, the governor presented the grants to the beneficiaries, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the donors.

The Social Investment Programme is a support initiative designed for elderly men and women aged 65 and above.
