Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has called on contractors handling reconstruction of the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi Road to expedite their work ahead of the upcoming holiday season. The Governor made the call during inspection of the project and praised President Bola Tinubu for his prompt response in addressing the poor condition of the road.
For years, residents of Ekpoma, as well as travellers on the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi Road and those heading to Abuja, have faced considerable hardships due to the deteriorating state of the road.
Ahead of the September 2024 Edo State Governorship election, Governor Okpebholo, alongside Senator Adams Oshiomhole, approached President Tinubu for assistance, which was graciously granted. This led to the reconstruction of the long-failed stretch of the road.
Today, Governor Okpebholo is on-site to assess the progress and express satisfaction with the work done so far.
Earlier, Governor Okpebholo made a brief stopover at the construction site by Obandan Junction. This marks the third time he has inspected the road project since his inauguration as Governor just a fortnight ago.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Edo State residents have access to quality roads across the state.
