Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo

Civil servants in Edo State have showered praises on Governor Monday Okpebholo following the payment of the 13th month salary, describing the gesture as timely and a major boost to workers’ morale during the festive season.

Workers across the Edo State Secretariat and several ministries, including the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Ministry of Lands and Housing, Ministry of Environment and Sustainability, and the Ministry of Education, Iyaro confirmed receipt of the payment.

They commended the state government for the gesture, describing the bank alerts as pleasant surprise that would help ease financial pressure on workers during the yuletide and beyond.

Many of the civil servants noted that the payment has brought relief and renewed their confidence in the government’s people- centred approach to governance.

It would be recalled that Governor Monday Okpebholo, shortly after assuming office in November 2024, approved and implemented the payment of the 13th month salary for civil servants in the state.
