Edo Kidnapping: state police command arrest 2 suspects of a 3-man gang

Two suspects of a three-man gang of kidnappers are presently in the custody of the Edo state police command for crimes relating to kidnapping and armed robbery.

The suspects were arrested at Ugbowo while taking one of their victims to their hideout.

The two suspects David Ayobamide and Lucky Osawaru, members of the three-man gang were paraded at the police headquarters of the Edo state police command after their arrest.

The Police public relations officer Kontongs Bello said the suspect was arrested on November 5 while driving a kidnap victim to their hideout.

The kidnap victim while narrating his ordeal said he was accosted by the gang members and dragged into the booth of his vehicle while driving out of his compound and along the way, he managed to open the boot of the car and raise the alarm that saw to his rescue.

Another victim of the gang also narrated his encounter with the gang members after they forcibly took his belongings along with his car.

The police spokesman however commended the efforts of citizens in the arrest of the suspects and assured them that they will be charged to court as soon as the investigation was completed and other gang members arrested.
